Ipipiri Art opens its doors

Paihia welcomes a new art gallery.  Ipipiri Art Charitable Trust (39 Williams Rd, in the old 100% space) opened its doors in the weekend.  The organisers have done a fabulous job in creating a modern, spacious and exciting art space in central Paihia.  A great addition to the CBD.

Their mission is to promote and support the visual arts in Paihia, Bay of Islands, by ensuring access to, and active participation with, inspirational, educational and creative art for people of all ages.

Their primary purpose is to:

– provide and promote art exhibitions, public events, and educational experiences that will serve to foster the appreciation and enjoyment of art for residents of, and visitors to the Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

– be a catalyst to encourage, enrich, fuel creativity, educate, ignite minds, for both novice and experienced artists.

– develop a resource centre for Bay of Islands artists.

Ipipiri Art has a gallery downstairs.  Upstairs is to house additional art, as well as providing a space where art education and other related events can be held.

“Ipipiri Art will evolve as time moves on, of that we are certain.  Your support will be greatly appreciated and invaluable, particularly during this inaugural year of 2012, to ensure it charts a course that takes it successfully into the future”.

Current hours are 10am to 4pm, Tue to Sat.  Email ipipiriart@xtra.co.nz.
