The FOCUS PAIHIA OP SHOP SUMMER FASHION SHOW held on 1 November was again a great success. The weather was kind, the fantastic music, the venue of ALONGSIDE, the welcome drink and the delicious nibbles, all added to the crowd’s enjoyment. If you missed the show you missed a real treat seeing our ‘old’ models, plus four new models, strutting their stuff down the catwalk wearing some fabulous clothes. Some of the designer dresses are in the shop, such as Anthea Crawford and Liz Jordan. All at great prices – you could get the bargain of the year!
FOCUS PAIHIA COMMUNITY CHARITABLE TRUST and Op Shop Manager KATH WILLIAMS can not thank show supporters enough for everything they do… For the magnificent venue, food and drink at ALONGSIDE – Thank you SARAH, EDDIE and your great staff. CHEF the food was delicious! The music was supplied by NICK LAIRD – this always ‘makes the show’ and everyone always loves it.
Thank you to LISA DOVE, hair stylist extraordinaire, who provides her services for every show, making the girls feel extra special. The wonderful models – no show without them – were as usual, outstanding! Thank you to RHONDA BLAKIE, GAIL OLSHON, CAT LOGAN, KATJA CAULTON, DIANE GLEN, GEOFF WILLIAMS, and new models to the stage BRENDON SMITH, TROY O’DONOGHUE, MASAMI GRIFFIN and DEANNA GRIFFIN. Thank you to the ‘quick as a flash’ production crew out the back … Dressers – JEN BLANCHON, LYN CREE, and GLORIA HAWKINS. All expertly managed by Stage Manager – GILL SECCOMBE. Also thank you for the raffle sales – SUE PIN, PATSY UMUROA, and clothing sales MARGARET GREY. Not forgetting our ‘keeper of the catwalk’ – BRUCE GORDON.
Thank you to raffle sponsors CLASSIC SOUVENIRS, THE COPTHORNE HOTEL BAY OF ISLANDS, BAY OF ISLANDS PARASAIL and ROUGE PONY CONVERTIBLE TOURS for the magnificent prizes. Thank you to all those who participated in the Show, either by helping create it or by coming to it. $3000 was raised on the evening which will pay for the new irrigation system going in on Horotutu – so we can keep the grass looking good all summer.
Despite the popularity of the OP SHOP FASHION SHOW, moving forward there will only be ONE show each year, in November/December, as there is now so much ‘going on’ in town. The annual ticket will certainly be in hot demand!
