NEW CCTV FUNDING APPROVED
We are thrilled to announce NZ Police and Focus Paihia have been successful with an application to the Proceeds of Crime Fund to replace and upgrade the current cameras we have, as well as increase surveillance with numerous more CCTV surveillance cameras installed from Opua to Watea. NZ Police and Focus Paihia would like to thank those that supported the bid. The funds raised include an ongoing maintenance budget until 2024. This upgrade will improve the quality and coverage of the system, and is expected to enhance safety and community well-being in the area, as well as providing another investigation tool for police and enforcement agencies. The contract has been awarded to a local supplier, and the upgrade will take place in the months ahead.
