In March 2012, following another round of placemaking workshops with David Engwicht, Creative Communities, Paihia’s volunteer placemaking force was ready to take action. In April, funding was approved for several different new projects and the completion of the 2011 Bay Belle project. Volunteer ‘drivers’ of each project got their working team together and began planning.
- Paihia Village Green / Bay Belle welcome garden
- Footpath Flag Trail
- Williams Road pedestrian crossing
- Maiki Hill
- Maiki Hill Toilet Block
- Mosaic Chair
An additional project that was supported by Focus Paihia was the Paihia Primary School hopscotch project.
